Praise the Lord to all that will read this lesson.
The scripture comes to mind that addresses anger. Especially the one that states anger resteth in the bosom of a fool (Ecc. 7:9). It seems that so many today can not just talk. It seems discussions, especially when there are disagreements, turn into shouting and yelling matches. What is happening? So many get aggravated so quickly. The word no or stop or do not do that seems to turn on this range of emotions that include anger, yelling and failure to communicate. The word of God is all instruction. Instruction from God on how to live, how to treat others and how to love Him. The word of God is not up for discussion to change it, but to understand it. Even the word of God now makes people be angry, yell, unable to communicate and show lack of respect. If one cannot be corrected, how can he or she be saved? if one is not teachable how can he or she grow in the Lord? The level of contention and aggression has come to a level that is very hurtful and destructive. Do not allow anger to hinder you, bind you up. If you have anger, do the work and find out what hurt you have inside that causes you to be angry and lash out at people. Seek the Lord and ask him to heal you hurt and deliver you. Don't let anger keep you out of Heaven.

John 3:16 speaks volumes about the love of God. "For God so loved the world". It does not say He loves wordlyness. It says He loves the world. Remember, the physical world was created by God. He spoke it into existence. Then He made man to fellowship with Him. Then came sin.
How did sin enter the world? The serpent spoke to Eve words God did not say. She at on the word spoken by the serpent. Remember, God spoke to Adam. God gave Adam instruction, not Eve. While there is always emphasis on Eve being the word that was misled, at least it was because she did not know what God had told Adam. Some may say Adam surely passed the word of God along to Eve. Scriptures do not speak to this. A few things can be learned from this. When God gives His word, tell others what God said. Do not leave it up to the man or woman to try and figure out what is right and what is wrong. God's word lets it be known what is right and what is wrong. Secondly, do not listen to everybody. In the book of Jeremiah 3:15 it says, 'And I will give you Pastors according to my heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding." God called pastors tell the people what God says. Thirdly, everyone that professes to be saved should always ask themselves, 'do I know and hear the voice of God? Do I listen to the word of God and seek to obey what it says? Do I allow others to speak things to me that are not scripturally sound? Every since there has been a church, the woman has been put down and treated like a second class believer. When the focus should be whether or not Eve knew what God had said. She repeated what she was told in Genesis 3:2,3. But it was Adam that heard it first hand from God (Genesis 2:16,17). Eve had not been created yet. Matthew 6:33 says, "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." For God so loved the world. The includes you. Pay attention to what you hear concerning the Lord and who you hear it from. Your soul depends on it. The past few days we have been rejoicing in the Lord for HIs keeping power. When we talk about keeping power, we are talking about the Holy Ghost and obedience to the word of God. So many use the phrase 'IN Jesus Jesus Name' as it there is power in saying the name. But the name with its authority is based on being Holy Ghost filled and obedience to the word of God. Using His name to make things happen is not the Lords way.
The Lord has blessed us to continue in the faith of the gospel in preaching and teaching it. Many love church, but do not know Jesus Christ. Many love the activities of church but do not follow after the holiness of the Lord as required. In the book of John chapter 6 verse 27 Jesus told them to labour for the meat that endureth unto everlasting life, which the son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed. In I Corinthians 15:58 the word of God tells us to be ye stedfast, unmovable, always abounding in THE WORK OF THE LORD......" I asked the Lord what is the work of the Lord? What should your people be abounding in? Getting people to believe on Him as the scriptures have said. How many really believe in Jesus Christ like the scriptures say? Simon the sorcerer beloved, but not like the scriptures say. The devil believes there is one God and he trembles. How many believers tremble at the things of the Lord? There is work to do. And the work is not more conferences, meetings, special services and things of that nature. The work needed is preaching, teaching, witnessing of the Lord Jesus Christ to the converting of the soul. Many have heard the word, but not many have believed the word. Many times in scriptures Jesus was among the religious people of the time and they seeing Jesus still did not believe. In that same chapter of John chapter 6 verse 29 it reads, "Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the word of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent." What do you believe? In the book of John chapter 8, the word of God teaches a very important lesson on judgment, forgiveness, repentance and the love of God.
The scribes and Pharisee brought a woman to Jesus that was caught in the act of adultery. They reminded Jesus that Moses in the law commanded us to, that such should be stones: but what sayest thou? Jesus did not answer them. He stooped down and began writing on the ground. The scribes and Pharisees continued to ask Jesus what sayest thou. Jesus said unto them, "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast.a stone at her. And agin he stooped down, and wrote on the ground." Many through the years have tried to figure out what Jesus was writing. Some have said the names of those that had been with the woman is a popular response. But the word of God does not say what Jesus was writing on the ground. After Jesus asked the scribes and Pharisees the question the Bible says, "and they which heard it, being convicted by THEIR OWN CONSCIENCE went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jess saw it was just him and the woman he asked her, "where are those thine accusers? Hath no man condemned thee?" She said, "no man, Lord." And Jesus unto her, "neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more." Jesus then turned and spoke to 'them' "I am the light of the world: he that followers me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." It is easy to be quick to condemn someone else and not look on ones own life. The woman sin was in the open. Many have sins they think are hid in the dark. Sin is sin. All have sinned and fallen shot of the kingdom of God. Man does not have the right to condemn or judge a person unto death. That judgment is reserved for God to do. However, the Lord does not accept sin. Jesus told the woman to go and sin no more. He did not say adultery was right. Did the woman go and sin no more? Scripture does not say. But the scripture does say, when Jesus says stop that is what He means. The conscience. The men that wanted judgment and death for the woman were made to think on their own actions. Did they have sin in their lives? Did they put the stones down? At least it appears they are operating in some truth and that same spirit of truth made them look at themselves...their conscience was convicted. This scripture helps one to understand that conviction affects ones thoughts. Conviction causes change. Conviction touches the thoughts and heart that leads to change. The word of God is designed to bring conviction as relates to sin and wrong doing. If the word of God does not bring conviction for sin when sin is in ones life, there will be no repentance or change. Where was the love of God in all this? Jesus spoke to the spiritual condition of the scribes, the Pharisees and the woman. Thank God for the word. Praise the Lord!!
There is a song that speaks to all of my appointed time I am going to wait til my change comes. Waiting on the Lord requires patience. The scripture says, "let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing- James 1:4.". The scriptures says, "in your patience possess ye your souls"- Luke 21:19. Part of salvation is being to wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord-Psalms 27:14. James 1:3 puts it like this: "Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience." This verse lets it be known that your faith will be tried. And it is tried to prove what is in your heart. The lord will always be faithful to His word. But will those that profess to be His be faithful to Him? The three Hebrew boys were put in a trial. They were taken from their home land and put into a place they did not choose under king Nebuchadnezzar. While in that land the three were given positions of prominence. Then in the book of Daniel chapter 3, King Nebuchadnezzar sent to gather together the princes, the governors, and the captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, to come to the dedication of the image which Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up. This gathering would include the 3 Hebrew boys. After they all came together instruction was given to that when these heard the sound of all kind of music, they are to fall down and worship the golden image that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up. All those that did not bow down to the image would be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace. But the 3 Hebrew boys did not bow down. The stood. When the King made good on the threat to cast those that did not bow into the furnace, they still stood. When the 3 Hebrew boys go thrown into the furnace, they still stood and the God of Heaven stood with them. What a testimony to the power of God to keep those that wait on Him and that stand for HIm. Just think about it. They were facing being burned to death because they would not bow to a strange god. They saw two men get burned that heated up the flames in the fiery furnace hotter than it had been. But the Hebrew boys did not bow. What a testimony. Jesus told his followers, "these things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world".- John 16:33 Wait on HIm.. I will bless the Lord at all times. His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
This is a call back. A call back to go back to doing that which the Lord wants and not what man wants. Has it been forgotten why the Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross? Has it been forgotten why Jesus paid the price for sin? Has it been forgotten? Has the church become a man made, man led 'system'? Where man makes the rules. Where man establishes what should and should not be preached or taught concerning the Lord's church. There are so many now that make a mockery of the church. But what they are mocking is the pretenders that are able to deceive souls into following them. And to the one that does not know the Lord, they think its God's church and it is not! Many are being deceived by the pretenders. This is a call back. Go back to seeking the Lord on your face until you find Him. Go back to fasting (not dieting) to get back in fellowship with the Lord. Go back to GOING TO THE MEETING PLACE FOR THE SAINTS like God said to do. Go back to studying the Bible for your self and ask God to lead you to a Holy Ghost filled church where you can go to Bible study and learn. No, as individuals we can not remove all the deceivers. But we can warn the people about them. God called men and women have been sounding the alarm for decades. And the multitudes called them 'old school' or 'out of touch with the generation' or 'irrelevant'. My Lord. Come back. Come back before it is too late. When God destroyed the world with the flood the first time, it is recorded in the book of Genesis chapter 6 and verse five that God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. In verse 7 God said, "I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man and beast and the creeping thing and the fowls of the air: for it repented me that I have made them". In verse 12, the Bible says, "and God looked upon the earth and behold it was corrupt; for ll flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth." And who did God spare? Noah. Why? Because he found grace in the eyes of the Lord. And how did Noah find grace in the eyes of the Lord? "He walked with God"- verse 9. And because Noah walked with God, God let Noah know that he was going to destroy all flesh because the earth was filled with violence through them (verse 13). What's the condition of mans heart today? Is not violence filling the earth one more time by the hands of men? Come back, before it is too late. Because Noah walked with God, God advised Noah what to do to prepare for the destructing that was going to come upon the earth. This post is an attempt to warn because God is going to do the same thing again but it will not be water this time (II Peter 3:10). Come back to doing things the the Lord said to0. I will bless the Lord at all times. His praise shall continually be in my mouth. Before I will complain, I will bless the Lord. He is faithful to His people.
Just finished the weekly broadcast on station KCHL Gospel 1480 AM- kchl.org. Those that are interested you may tune in every Saturday from 9:15-9:30 on the am dial. This morning the message came from Matthew chapter 28 and chapter 22. In chapter 28, the last verse, Jesus told his disciples "teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you:". This still holds true today. Culture does not dictate what the Lords church should and should not teach or preach. Many throw that word culture around to do just that...teach something Jesus did not say. The word of God also teaches if any man take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will away his part out of the book of life and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book (Revelation 22:19). In Matthew chapter 22, Jesus taught his servants that the wedding feast is ready, but they which are bidden were not worthy. Go ye therefore into the highways and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage. John chapter 1 tells us He came unto his own and his own received him not. But as many as receive him to them gave he power to become the sons of God. All are welcome to come to the church. You come to change from being unrighteous to become righteous by the Lord. Just know that you can't stay the same and be saved. You can not live like you want and do what you want and be saved. Marvel not, you must be born again (John 3:7). The church is not a club, night club, entertainment place or place of 'ill repute'. God said his house to be a house of prayer. Stop allowing culture dictate to you how to serve the Lord. Only the Lord controls that. "Repent and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for remission of sins and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost".- Acts 2:38. Why is being baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ necessary? (1.) being Holy Ghost filled is a necessity to be saved. In the book of Romans chapter 8 verse 9 the Lords word says, "without his spirit you are none of his". Don't let culture make you lose your soul. :Go ye therefore and teach all nations baptizing them in the name of the father, and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you and lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."- Matthew 28:19,20
Who is the father? Who is the Son? Who is the Holy Ghost? Jesus. The purpose of the church is to be a witness of Jesus to a dying world. Jesus, the lamb of God that died for the sins of the world. The Lord did not say teach blessings or how to get rich. The Church is to preach Jesus, the savior. One day everyone will face the judgment of God. No exceptions. God has given us time to get right with Him The word of God tells us to redeem the time and use it wisely to prepare for eternity. What do most spend their time? Knowing about the Lord and talking about his goodness is not enough. Marvel not, you must be born again. Jesus said to go and teach the way so people will know what to do to be saved. It is a necessity to be baptized in Jesus Name. Jesus is the Father. Jesus is the son and Jesus is the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:38 "Then Peter said unto them, Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." No exceptions. Does anyone remember this children's Bible song? "Hey my friends have you seen II Timothy 2:15? I Thessalonians 5:22 will you tell you what you must do. Study the word. Study the word. Study the word. You study the word. I'll study the word. Study the word. Study the word. Study the word." I may have missed a word or two, but the essence of the song rings out. Study the Word. But how many do that today?
We use to sing a song that said, "Some glad morning, when this life is over, I'll fly away. To a home on God's celestial shores. I'll fly away. Oh, oh I'll fly away, oh glory. I'll fly away, when I die hallelujah by and by. I'll fly away. Just a few more weary days and then, I'll fly away. To a land where joy shall never end. I'll fly away."
Anyone remember that song? When you live for the Lord, you look for the day to go to heaven and be with Him for ever. This is what the Saints of God live for. This world has nothing to offer the Saint of God. Nothing. Do not allow the world and its ways to get you off track. Seek the Lord. Continue to seek the Lord and then seek Him some more. Time is almost up. Do not even let those that fall away stop you from seeking the Lord. Do not allow those that change the doctrine of holiness stop you either. The word of God tells us that many shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. For in this last day many are falling away from the faith that saves the soul. Do not let that distract you It may seem at times that you are alone on your journey to meet the Lord. But you are not. Always remember the God will always have a remnant. And the key is to stay in the number of the remnant. The word of God teaches that it is the broad way that leads to destruction and the narrow way that lead to heaven. Never look at the size of a ministry. Listen for the doctrine. And if the doctrine is not being taught, ask the Lord to lead to a place where it is taught. Thank the Lord for leaving us his word and making his spirit available to those that will obey the gospel. Pastor Webb Steadfast Apostolic Church |
