There was a time when ministry was about reaching souls.  Reaching souls, snatching them out of the hands of the adversary.  There use to be a time when preaching was with conviction.  Ministry was not something that was played with.  And, no one was running to be a preacher.  It was a called out job.  One that only the Lord filled with those He called.  But now, things have changed.

It seems far too many see preaching/pastoring as a position to seek after.  The only problem is the reason for seeking is not the Lord.  It is for position and power.  When this is done, I wonder if the person seeking realizes there is a price to pay for what comes out of their mouth and for the way they live?  In addition, if the Lord does not call a person to preach, the Lord will not be the head of that ministry.

My heart and soul aches for the the misuse of the ministry that is going on today.  I have nothing to boast or brag about being in ministry.   I realize the seriousness of being a mouth piece for the Lord.  Ministry is sacrificing.  It brings pain at times, but it can bring joy and fulfillment too.   Being in ministry can only occur if the Lord calls you.  Going to school to be a preacher does not mean God called you.  One has to always remember, the letter killeth but the Spirit gives life.

If so many that are proclaiming to be preachers and ministers would be honest (for one day they will have to be), God did not really call them.  

Look at the fall away.  Why are so m any allowing things to go on in the church that the Bible does not support?  Why are women cutting their hair, wearing pants and makeup? Why are the youth only interested in a praise and not Holiness?  What is being taught to the children concerning the Holy, righteous ways of the Lord?  The Bible teaches the father is to raise his children up in the fear and admonition of the Lord.  The Bible teaches that children are to be taught the ways of the Lord when they are walking, sitting, etc.  In other words, in all things, children are to be taught God's way.

God requires holiness.  Nothing else will do.  Why then are so many bringing the world into the Church?  God said to follow peace with all men and holiness without which no man shall see the Lord.  God said, be ye holy for i am holy.

Holiness is one being set apart for the Lords use.  The Bible says after conversion and being filled with the Holy Ghost, a person becomes a witness.  What is the witnesss of most that are saying they are preachers/pastors of the Gospel?

Anyone with any age on them knows, that when you went to church back in the day., you did not take the world with you.  And, you sure did not sing in the choir or do any kind of service in the church.  Why is it being allowed now?

When you know the truth, fear/reverence comes.  God says he is angry with the wicked everyday.

There are so many names for this one day out of the year.  Which one is right?  Which one does Jesus teach?

In the Old Testament, God told Israel to keep the Passover.  It represented the fact that God delivered Israel out of the land of Egypt and out of Pharaoh's hands.  It is called Passover because the death angel passed over all the houses that had blood on the door post and lintels.   There was also a special diet that accompanied the Passover in the Old Testament.  This teaching can be found in the book of Exodus, starting at chapter 12.

After the instructions from God on the Passover, God gave Israel twelve commandments to live by.  This can be found in Exodus Chapter 20, verses 1 through 17.

The word Easter is found in the Bible one time, in the book of Acts 12:4.  It is only mentioned.  The Bible does not teach Easter.  Easter is a pagan celebration.  It has nothing to do with Jesus, the Church or salvation.  Bunny rabbits, colored eggs, easter clothes, easter candy, easter hunts are not of God.  Look it up.  Again, it is pagan.

The origins of Easter are obscure. It is often assumed that the name Easter comes from a pagan figure called Eastre (or Eostre) who was celebrated as the goddess of spring by the Saxons of Northern Europe. According to the theory, Eastre was the “goddess of the east (from where the sun rises),” her symbol was the hare (a symbol of fertility), and a festival called Eastre was held during the spring equinox by the Saxons to honor her. This theory on the origin of Easter is highly problematic.

The resurrection happened one time when Jesus rose from the dead just like he said he would.  Jesus told the Jewish people that he would rise again on the third day.  The Bible teaches that Jesus rose with all power in his hand.  This act forever defeated the devil and evil works.  Those that obey the Gospel will receive this benefit.  The born again experience brings a soul to this benefit.  The person begins to live a new life free from sin.  Therefore, the result of the resurrection is to be lived daily and not just thought of or observed once a year.  Jesus does not want to be celebrated for rising from the dead.  He wants to be glorified in a godly life.

One other reason for not 'celebrating' the resurrection is because the date changes yearly, based on the sun and its position, not Jesus.

"Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life, he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.  And whosoever liveth and believeth in my shall never die."  John 11:25,26

Holiness is God's mandate for every soul that desires to enter into the kingdom of Heaven.  There are no exceptions.  Hebrew 12:14 says, "Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord".  The new birth experience (repentance, baptism in the Holy Ghost with evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance, becoming filled with the Holy Ghost) is required to begin living holy.  A person can not live holy without the Holy Ghost.  It is impossible.  The Holy Ghost will lead and guide into all truth.

So, what is the conclusion of this blog?  Don't observe Easter, the resurrection or the Passover.  Seek Jesus.  All of the latter are under the law.  When Jesus ate the 'last supper', it was just that.  No more would Israel need to observe that day.  Jesus told the Jews too, "Purge out, therefore, the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened.  For even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us:"  Then the Bible goes on to say that the feast can be kept, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth (I Corinthians 5:7,8).

Following the traditions of men is going to cause a bad end for a lot of souls.
