The book of John 18:5 says, "Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye? They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto the, I am he. And Judas Also, which betrayed him, stood with them"
When I looked at that scripture this morning, I saw something. The betrayer of the Lord, Jesus was standing with those that opposed the teachings of the Lord. Judas, that sat with Jesus, eat with Jesus, followed after Jesus was now standing with those that would seek to silence Jesus. John 13:18 says, "i speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the Scriptures may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me hath lifted up his heel against me." Who was the lord speaking of? Judas. Then in verse 21, Jesus said, "One of you shall betray me".
The Lord knows the intent of the heart. The Lord admonishes His people to try the spirit by the Spirit. Just because some one walks with you, eats with you and sits with you does not mean he or she is for you. Jesus was betrayed by one of His own.
Don' be a Judas. Eternity is a long time.
